Big Star had some strong opinions during his retirement ceremony at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.
Nick Skelton, 59, and Big Star bid an emotional farewell to show jumping on May 15th in front of packed stands of fans of the Olympic gold medal pair, including Her Majesty The Queen. The 14-year-old stallion will be soon enjoying a quieter life at stud; Skelton also handed over his Great Britain team jacket in a symbolic gesture indicating his own retirement from international competition. He will continue working with young horses at his stables in Warwickshire and following the racing careers of his sons.
