Ontario-native Kelly Houtappels-Bruder, who is based in The Netherlands, is ranked fourth in the FEI’s Top Driver Award Standings for Singles.

The Top Driver Award is based on results from all CAI high level events and CAIOs to achieve placings or standings. Points are awarded to drivers based upon their final classification at the event linked to the number of drivers taking part.

Houtappels-Bruder has a total of 43 points, based on her results this season. She follows Poland’s Bartlomiej Kwiatek with 58 points, France’s Anne Violaine Brisou, who has 55 points and Weronika Kwiatek (POL) with 51 points.

Houtappels-Bruder moved to Belgium in 2008 to take a position as a working student. Now, she and her husband, Frank, operate Gendersteyn Stables in Steensel, The Netherlands, where she trains, teaches and competes with dressage horses and her combined driving horse Flip.
