IN THIS GATE – LEXIE LOU – TO HER INSIDE – STRUT THE COURSE!

An intriguing little event highlights the Woodbine card today. It is not a stakes race but it could well as as 2 champions and a potential stakes star are going to play cat-and-mouse in a 1 1/16 mile Tapeta race.

The race is a means to something else for both gals and even the 3rd favourite MOON RAINBOW, a promising Sam-Son Farms filly who is the sneaky entrant in the race. The field is completed by front running type Clarkston Hope and stakes winner Sweater Weather.

LEXIE LOU likely has a tactical advantage over Strut the Course plus she has raced twice this year with mixed results. Strut the Course looks and is working very well but has to get going early.

WOODBINE FRIDAY WRAP

5 winners from the 9 races on Thoroughblog even if the day started out a bit slowly on the picking end.

A triple win day for NORM MCKNIGHT who won with speedy VILLEOGVIBANK – Sheena Ryan, QUATTROCENTO, on the lead and Colleen’s Sailor in the last race.

The 3 top Beyer Figure efforts as calculated by Daily Racing Form were

LEO’S LOOKIN – 89 beyer for his 5 1/2 furlong win in 1:03.3. Thi was the 2nd winner for trainer Robertino Diodor at the meeting and the ONtario bred son of Leonnatus Anteas is owned by Ted Graling, Randy Howg and Randy Exelby. He was claimed from this handy score by Ross Armata and S A Stable which also claimed Bread Winner, the 2nd place finisher.

Diodor, in turn, claimed Bear’s Romeo, who finished last.

Second highest Beyer Figure of the day was earned by the super cool gelding COLLEEN’S SAILOR, an 87, for his win in a starter allowance. This 7-year-old is owned by racer’s Edge and trainer by Norm McKnight.

Third top beyer on the day was SHE’S A RINGER’S 77 in a claiming race for $25,000. As an ONtario sired gal, the purse started at $32,600 but she actually collected $37,000 plus for the win in bonuses. Nick Nosowenko off to a good start at the meeting and this Where’s the Ring gal was ridden by Patrick Husbands.
