DRF report – INGLORIOUS DONE FOR YEAR

No surprise here as Queen’s Plate and Woodbine Oaks winner INGLORIOUS has been put away for the year after a strenuous run since last fall.
The filly kind of went out with a fizzle but she is a pretty good Canadian bred and she is a leading contender for the Sovereign Award for top 3yo filly.

So, with a fewm onths left in 2011, even less at Woodbine, we anxiously await something big from some horse this year to wow us. The HORSE OF THE YEAR title is totally up for grabs with modest runs recently by PENDER HRBOUR and INGLRIOUS.

NEVER RETREAT is a leading candidate for Canadian Horse of the Year, so is EMBUR’S SONG..if the 2yo filly TU ENDI WEI runs big next weekend in Kentucky, or if NORTHERN PASSION wins in the BC Juvenile Filly Turf – then we have a Horse of the Year.

should be fun to watch…
QUEEN STREET BEACH?

As Mark Casse sits poised to set the record for most wins by a trainer in one season, it has been fun following along to see what horse will do it for him. He had just the one runner Wed. night, PASO DOBLE was 2nd in a stakes race, and his lone entrant yesterday was scratched.

As fitting as any number of his possible record-breaking winners would be, it would surely be the most fitting if QUEEN STREET BEACH won today for Casse, his only runner.
The Beach-boy is owned by Eugene Melnyk, who has had a Horse of the Year Casse and one of his biggest nights as an owner, breeder with Casse as his trainer
