YEARLING SHOW AT RICHARD HOGAN’S BALLYLYNCH
Food, drink and the Fiddlestix were the highlights at a super yearling show put on once again by Richard Hogan at his Ballylynch Farm in Kleinburg.
The consignor previewed more than a dozen of his yearling prospects for the upcoming September sale at Woodbine put on by the Candian Thoroughbred Horse Society.
One of the top colts at the preview was this BOLD EXCECUTIVE- FLASHY’N SMART colt who had the crowd buzzing.
(Below) CRITICAL THINKING is a colt by Old Forester out of Athena’s Smile and is a half brother to stakes winner Society’s Chairman.

VENTURA LIKELY FOR MILE AGAIN
The Daily Racing Form reports that VENTURA is headed back to Woodbine to try and turn the tables on Rahy’s Attorney in the WOOBINE MILE on Sept 21. The Breeders’ Cup winner is not nominated for the upcoming Ballerina Stakes at Saratoga.

Internallyflawless, Gomez are in Oaks triumph

DEL MAR — Freshly returned from induction into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Bob Baffert was back visiting his old haunts yesterday.
The winner’s circle here after a stakes race.
And not just any stakes race, but a Grade I, $350,000 one, the Del Mar Oaks.
Given a virtually flawless ride by Garrett Gomez, Internallyflawless ($15.80) got the lead turning into the stretch and held off the late charge of 30-1 shot Nan by a half-length in the 53rd running of the meeting’s championship event for 3-year-old fillies.
It was the second Oaks victory for a Baffert-trained filly, joining that of Tout Charmont in 1999, and stakes victory No. 83 for the white-haired trainer, adding to his record here.
Internallyflawless is owned by Charles Fipke, a Canadian with diamond mines — hence the filly’s name — whose top horses generally go to Woodbine in Toronto for racing. But not this one.
“Chuck Fipke has been very patient with this filly,” Baffert said. “He let me bring her along the way I thought she should be trained, and she rewarded us with a Grade I win.

VERNE’S BABY 4TH
Canadian old guys update
Stakes winner, track record settoer VERNE’S BABY has been toiling in low claiming races lately and on Monday was 4th,beaten 5 1/2 lengths for $4,750 claiming at Fort Erie.
The gelding missed more than a year of racing due to knee surgeries.
TWISTED WIT, Canadian-bred stakes winner of over $900,000, has been claimed a bunch of times in the U.S. this year and he has raced 15 times already in 2009. He was 4th for $16,000 claiming on August 14 at Monmouth.
DASHING ADMIRAL, $500,000 earner and stakes winner, was beaten 8 lengths for FOR $4,000 CLAIMING at Fort Erie on Aug.10.
COOL SELECTION, $671,000, was 2nd for $7,500 claiming at Lone Star Park on July 18.
HALL OF FAME CEREMONY TOMORROW NIGHT

Ladies head 2009 Canadian Hall class

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Three generations of Canadian-bred fillies and mares will be represented when La Voyageuse, Alywow, and Maryfield are inducted into the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame on Thursday evening.
The annual ceremony will take place at the nearby Mississauga Convention Centre, with Peteski and owner/breeder Gustav Schickedanz joining the female trio as this year’s Thoroughbred inductees.
