HORSE OF THE YEAR BIOFUEL emerged from the Ontario Matron Stakes yesterday with a chp in her ankle and has been retired from racing, said trainer READE BAKER.

The day daughter of Stormin Fever – Ms Cornstalk, owned and bred by BRERETON JONES In kentucky, was a mild 3rd in the race yesterday behind EMBUR’S SONG and it was her 2nd loss of the year.

 The filly had 6 wins in 13 races and over $763,000. She was the champion 2yo filly in Canada and then champion 3yo filly and HOY last year. She won the Selene, Mazarine, Star Shoot and La Lorgnette Stakes and was Grade 1 placed in the Mother Goose and CCA Oaks.

 

Biofuel will be bed to MAJESTICPERFECTION next spring. He is a Grade 1 winning sprinter by Harlan’s Holiday who entered stud at Jones’ Airdrie Stud this season
