ARE YOU READY FOR SUPER SATURDAY??

Who are you excited to see? FLAT OUT?  ROYAL DELTA? CROSS TRAFFIC? BIG BLUE KITTEN? ORB?

What a day at Belmont as there are 6 Grade 1’s on the card and a juicy $500,000 Pick 4 starting with race 7, the Vosburgh.

Here is a look at what my ticket could look like:

Race 7 – Tough sprint, Canadian-bred PRIVATE ZONE tries sandy Belmont for the first time off his first stakes win at Del Mar. He is a 4yo by Macho Uno who cost $15,000. The tough ones in the race will be JUSTIN PHILLIP and BAHAMIAN SQUALL.

Will be using FORTY TALES too!

Race 8 – like KISSABLE to upset for trainer Roger Attfield and the Three Chimneys Group but this is a wide open 1 1/4 mile Flower Bowl with LAUGHING as the lone speed.

race 9 The Turf Classic – the invasion of the Kittens so we will use Big Blue Kitten, Real Solution entry and NUTELLO.

race 10 – the big one, the 96th JOCKEY CLUB GOLD CUP! Orb fans will be all excited and he certainly is a strong factor but FLAT OUT is 5 for 6 at Belmont…what more do you need to know?
THAT’S ONE FAST BUNNY!
FRIDAY AT WOODBINE

ZENSATIONAL BUNNY, yet another explosive winner from the Pat Parente barn in 2013, posted one of thehighest Beyer Figures of any 2yo in Canada this year when she won her debut in race 4 yesterday at Woodbine. The bay daughter of hot, young sire ZENSATIONAL – BEACH BUNNY by STORM BIRD zipped away early in the 5 1/2 furlong dash and won easily, stopping the clock in 1:04 and earning an 81 Beyer Speed Figure.
The 2yo was a $20,000 purchase in June by Camilla Farms and she had worked one furlong in 10 1/5 for that sale.
She is from the super SAM-SON FARMS family of TIFFANY TAM (3rd dam), who produced REGAL INTENTION. The 2nd dam is Jewel in My Crown.
Lanni Racing and trainer Bob Baffert bred the Kentucky foaled gal.

There were some other good finishers in that race such as runner-up AVICCI, by City Zip, from the Kelly Callaghan stable and another 2yo in training purchase, WILD N CLEVER, by Offlee Wild and bred by Denny Andrews.

Colebrook Farm’s homebred 3yo filly FUHRESS by Langfuhr – Unbridled Dancer by Unbridled, won her maiden for $30,000 claiming in race 1 with the turf to Polytrack moce. Luis Contreras rode the filly who was adding blinkers for trainer Ashlee Brnjas.

More Colebrook later on, race 5, as PSYCHOTHERAPY came from last place to win a $20,000 claiming event in race 5 at 1 1/16 miles under Contreras. The winner is a Niigon 5yo who is anOntario sired guy in a race for non-winners of 2 or 3 (he had won 3 races already).

MARTIN HINCKSON, owner/trainer, won the 2nd race with his shrewd purchase, HARLAN’S RINGS, a filly who came from far back to beat the colts in a maiden $32,000 race at 7 furlongs. The filly wears red and gold silks and was bred by Sam-Son farms. She is by harlan’s Holiday out of Queen of the Rings by Empire Maker and the 3rd dam is Radiant Ring. The filly was 1st time Lasix and coming out of the very exciting maiden win by Lapsang, a recent stakes winner.

Roger Fortier’s homebred filly COACHELLA VALLEY has won two straight races now, in just 4 starts, as she took the 3rd race for $25,000 claiming, 3yo fillies. The Even the Score filly out of Yamuna was raised at Willow Ridge Farm (Bonnie Rowntree) and she stalked the pace before moving 2 wide to the lead off the turn.

ROYAL INTRIGUE won his maiden on the grass at 1 ile for owner and breeder Joanna iglar. That was race  6 and the winner edged longshot MR SEATTLE DANCER (Theatromania( after a perfect ride by Todd Kabel. The winner is a Silent Name 3yo out of Iglar’s good racemare Royal Dalliance, by Tejabo.

KITTEN CANDY won the featured race of the day, a sprint for first level allowance runners. The son of Candy Ride – Win Kitty by Forest Wildcat battled LENNON all the way and edged clear while riding the rail. Frank DiGiulio owns and bred the 3yo who was winning for the first time this year. Robert Tiller trains.
Kitten Candy was the fastest winner of the day, posting an 82 Beyer Figure in the 7 furlong race.

The big, beautiful filly named BLESSED ONE won a maiden allowance in race 8, holding off Canny Nannie (Smarty Jones) under Justin Stein, This is an Ontario bred filly, bought, where else? at the CTHS yearling sale 2 years ago for $27,000 from Huntington Stud Farm. Owned by Derek Chin, the North Light filly is out of  Kissin Party by Kissin Kris. Dan Vella trains.
The last race went to OSCULATOR, the 2nd win of the day for jockey Tommy Wong. The winner is owned by Marc Berzins and trained by Tim Regan. It was the  2nd win

JOSE KNOWS THE WAY

Brereton Jones’ homebred JOSE SEA VIEW, a son of BADGE OF SILVER, won Thursday night’s Fitz Dixon Stakes worth $100,000 at Presque Isle Downs. Trained by Reade Baker, the 2yo gelding is 2 for 2 in his young career and Emma-Jayne Wilson travelled down to ride the solidly, built youngster.

He erned a 66 Beyer for the front running score.
