Last night was the awards banquet for the National Capital Horse Trials Association. Tori and Alex Morgan represented Team O’Hanlon. We had a great showing and we were very proud of our up and coming riders and horses.

Most of the horses Selena and Anne Marie competed on in 2015, have now gone on to their new homes. ‘Bloomsday Leo,’ who was Open Prelim Champion with Selena, now has a wonderful home with a lovely lady in North Carolina.

‘Thunderstruck,’ who won the Open Training Championship, is with Selena in Ocala and under new ownership. He will start his competitive career with his very own human this winter. He and his new rider are already bonding fast.

‘Mistress Quickly,’ who won the Open Pre Training Championship with Anne Marie Duarte, now has her new special person in Quebec, and we hope to see more of them next year.

Dresden, who was fifth in the Open Training, left on Friday for Pennsylvania with people who love him just as much we do.

It’s fun to take the horses forward and teach them how to do a job, then to see them matched to their new riders and go on and do what they are trained to do.

’Rather Boldly’ and Selena were third in the Open Prelim, our student Tori Morgan was second in Senior Prelim on her own ‘Bentley.’ and Alex Morgan won Sr Training Championship on ‘Bazinga.’ Katiana Fleck’s ‘Second Amendment’ was second in the Open Training Championship.

There were also some local jumping derby awards. Mary Reynolds was first in the Training level on Junebug and Alex Morgan was third in Training on Basing.

Needless to say, I am as proud as it is possible to be of all the hard work and determination that went into these achievements. I look forward to seeing all these horses and riders build on this base next year and we wish all the joy and success possible to the horses that have left us and their now owners and riders.

I would also like to include our sponsors in this post. It is not only Woody and the ‘big boys’ that benefit from all our wonderful sponsors and supporters, the performance of every horse in the barn is affected or influenced by our sponsor’s generosity. #voltairesaddles #supplementsthatreallywork #selenaohanlon #purinaagribrand #haysmart #lamundial #omegaalphaequine #roadtorio #boogaloo #drapertherapies
