Horse Sport Young Riders' Scholarship

And the 2011 Winner is…

Congratulations to Esmee Ingham of West Vancouver, British Columbia! This year’s competition was even tougher than last with a record number of entries of very qualified young equestrians. Esmee impressed us with all her accomplishments in the saddle, at school and as a volunteer… we aren’t sure how she finds the time for it all!

About the Scholarship

The Horse Sport Young Riders’ Scholarship Fund was established in 1998 as part of Horse Sport’s 30th anniversary celebration. For the next 11 years, the top Canadian riders at the North American Young Riders’ Championship in dressage, show jumping and eventing were awarded a cash prize toward their pursuits.

The format of the Scholarship changed in 2010 and now rewards a single deserving Canadian young rider with a $5,000 scholarship. The inspiration for the re-vamped format is to provide a more substantial prize that will have a significant impact on a riders’ finances. To enter, please make sure you meet the Eligibility Criteria and submit your application by September 28, 2012. The winner will be announced in the December 2012 issue of Horse Sport.
