Woodbine Entertainment Group (WEG) is pleased to announce a five year extension to their contract with Teletheatre BC (TBC), Flamboro Downs and Georgian Downs for HorsePlayer Interactive (HPI), Canada’s online account wagering services for horse racing.

The new deal offers customers in these markets the expanded opportunity to watch and wager on more tracks than ever before, with more than 150 racetracks from around the world, through the various HPI platforms.  Customers will continue to have full access to view all races via video streaming, view on-demand race replays, download various race programs and participate in exclusive HPI contests at HorsePlayerInteractive.com.

“We look forward to working closely with WEG over the next five years,” said Bill McNeill, TBC’s Chief Operating Officer and General Manager, “to continue to evolve the HPI product for our customers, as well as work on new initiatives to increase the interest of the public to watch and wager on horseracing.”

The new arrangement will also include more promotions related to the Great Canadian Gaming stable of tracks, which include Hastings Racecourse and Fraser Downs in British Columbia and Flamboro Downs and Georgian Downs in Ontario.

“We have enjoyed a great partnership over the years in this business,” said Sean Pinsonneault, WEG’s Chief Operating Officer.  “Together we have experienced significant growth in the online account wagering segment by listening to customers and tailoring the services to meet or exceed their needs.  We are very proud to be a part of that success, now and in the future with this new extension to our agreement.”

TBC, Flamboro and Georgian customers will continue to be able to participate in HPI contests including Bet Night Live challenges shown nationally on The Score every Monday (Standardbred) and Wednesday (Thoroughbred) nights.  The challenges include free $24 contest trials for new account sign-ups which features a new betting interface.  Customers play to win $1,000 each night and can earn a seat at the $2 million National Handicapping Challenge in Las Vegas.

HorsePlayer Interactive launched in 1997 and is available in every province in Canada.  It now boasts more than 80,000 customers across the country.
