Organizers have announced a revised schedule for the second week of competition, running August 18 to 22, of the National Capital Show Jumping Tournament at the Nepean National Equestrian Park in Ottawa, ON. Due to severe thunderstorms in the Ottawa area on Sunday, August 15, the $75,000 Brookstreet Grand Prix did not run.

The second week of competition at the National Capital Show Jumping Tournament, which resumes on Wednesday, August 18, will feature scheduling changes and increased prize money.

Thursday’s featured event, originally the $10,000 CompetitiveJumpers.com Open Welcome, will now be the CSI2* $32,000 Brookstreet CompetitiveJumpers.com Open Welcome, scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Sanctioned as a Category D by the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), competitors will gain valuable points towards the Rolex World Rider Rankings. An FEI veterinary inspection of all entered horses will be held at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, August 18.

Friday brings the $15,000 ATCO Jumping Derby as originally planned, scheduled for 2 p.m.

Saturday’s main event, originally scheduled as the CSI2* $75,000 Angelstone Productions Grand Prix, will now be the CSI2* $118,000 Angelstone Productions Grand Prix, Presented by Brookstreet. With the increased prize money, the Grand Prix has been upgraded to a Category B rating by the FEI, giving competitors access to even more Rolex World Rider Ranking points for their placings, including 100 points to the winner.

“While the severe weather meant we could not run the Brookstreet Grand Prix on Sunday, we have been able to revise our schedule for the second week of competition to offer our competitors even more prize money as well as two opportunities to gain valuable points in the Rolex World Rider Rankings,” said Ainsley Hayes, Event Manager of the National Capital Show Jumping Tournaments. “We would like to thank our sponsors for their understanding and support, all of our FEI Officials, and especially Karen Hendry-Ouellette and Jennifer Mahoney at Equine Canada’s show jumping department for working so quickly to have our schedule changes approved by the International Equestrian Federation.”

All three events, the $32,000 Brookstreet Competitive.Jumpers.com Open Welcome, the $15,000 ATCO Jumping Derby and the $118,000 Angelstone Productions Grand Prix, Presented by Brookstreet, will be televised on Rogers.

Admission prices are $10 per person on Thursday, August 19, and Friday, August 20, with children two and under admitted free.
