A representative for Lady Georgina Forbes, the owner of several of Jessica Kürten’s (former) mounts, has responded to reports about their parting of ways, stating that comments made by Kürten are not entirely correct.

While Kürten claimed that Forbes had decided not to allow the horses to compete any longer, and that she would care for the horses until further arrangements could be made, Forbes’ attorney, Eva Jacob, tells a different story.

Jacobs pointed out that the contract between Forbes and Kürten ended on December 31, 2010, and that Kürten refuses to return the horses to their owner. As such, Forbes has forbidden Kürten from competing on any of her horses. In addition, Kürten has not allowed any of the five horses to be examined by a veterinarian selected by Forbes, nor will she allow blood samples to be taken and handed over to said veterinarian.

Jacobs said that Forbes is seeking legal support in Germany to remedy the situation and that Kürten currently has no legal claims against Forbes. She added that any claims raised after their contract expired have no grounds.
