Charles Fipke homebred Impossible Time prevailed in Wednesday night’s $126,200 Classy ‘n Smart Stakes at Woodbine. The Roger Attfield-trained daughter of Not Impossible was under the wire 1 1/2 lengths in front of Selembao, who was over eight lengths clear of third-place finisher San Nicola Whiskey. Impossible Time, who is a five-time winner this year, covered 1 1/16 miles in 1:43.78.

For five-year-old mare Impossible Time, the Polytrack event was her third stakes score of 2010. On May 22, she captured the Ballade, at six furlongs, and the Victoriana Stakes at 1 1/16 miles over the E.P. Taylor Turf Course, on Aug. 15.

Winning jockey Jono Jones relaxed the mare in seventh on the first turn, remaining unhurried through the backstretch. The mare began to rally on the outside near the three-eighths pole.

Impossible Time angled outside at the top of the stretch and collared a very game Selembao about a sixteenth of a mile from the wire.

The Ontario-bred mare is now 8-for-14 with $473,895 in earnings.

Impossible Time returned $2.80, $2.40 and $2.10, combining with Selembao ($4, $3.30) for a $10.30 exactor. San Nicola Whiskey ($4.70) rounded out a triactor worth $79.60.
