Georgina Bloomberg, 27, fell from her mount while competing in the Gambler’s Choice class at the Syracuse Invitational Sporthorse Tournament on Friday.

Though Bloomberg was knocked unconscious, she was able to walk out of the arena. It wasn’t until the following morning that back pain sent her to the hospital and she learned that she had, in fact, fractured her spine. Bloomberg was expected to have complete medical evaluation over the weekend.

It is not the first serious injury for Bloomberg, who has previously broken her back and collarbone and suffered numerous concussions during her show jumping career.
