The Headwaters Cup kicked off at Angelstone last night with the $35,000 Ecclestone Horse Transport Open Welcome in the Stadium at Angelstone.
Twenty five starters contested the first round track designed by Pan Am course designer Michael Valincourt. The first round proved to be difficult enough as only seven riders managed to complete the first round track without fault.

Erynn Ballard and Z Diamanty set the early jump off pace at a beautiful gallop, and never touched the reins. Her time of 37.91 set a pace that was very difficult to catch. Keean White and Carrera completed an inside turn to fence three that no one else attempted, but still came up short and finished second. Beth Underhill who was last to go on Count Me In gave it a fantastic shot, but an unfortunate rail at the second last fence sealed the win for Ballard and Z Diamanty!

Ballard said after the class “I’m so excited! This is the first win for Z, and I couldn’t be happier”.

The main event of the Headwaters Cup, the $35,000 Grand Prix, will take place Saturday Night at 6PM. Join us for some incredible sport as we wrap up our Spring Tour at Angelstone!
