On April 23, 2016, Equine Canada (EC) held the first official meeting of members under the federation’s new By-laws, implemented in September 2015 after a positive voting outcome that saw a 97% approval rating from the equestrian community.

Under the new By-laws, members are defined as persons designated as representatives in one of three categories (Equestrian Sports, Provincial and Territorial Sport Organizations, and National Equine Organizations) who meet the qualifications outlined in the By-laws and have been designated by their peers to have voting privileges in relation to EC governance.

The following members were in attendance during the inaugural meeting of members, held during the 2016 EC Annual Convention in Montreal, QC.

Business conducted at the first meeting of EC members included a vote on a special resolution to amend the By-laws, which was unanimously approved.
