The CTHS (Ontario Division) is proud to announce that Eva Hirmer of Guelph, Ontario, has been selected as the winner of this year’s Gillian Luxton MD Scholarship.

Currently in her fourth year at the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph in Ontario, Ms. Hirmer has earned a $5,000 scholarship towards her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. A dedicated professional with strong career interests in the Thoroughbred racing industry, she is studying equine medicine with an emphasis on equine performance with a goal to becoming a practitioner at Woodbine Racetrack.

“As part of our Thoroughbred Improvement Program (TIP), this scholarship is awarded annually to a student in pursuit of higher education,” said Julie Coulter, General Manager of the Ontario CTHS. “Eva has demonstrated a dedication towards achieving excellence with her educational goals. We would like to congratulate Eva on this achievement and wish her continued academic and personal success.”

Each year, the CTHS assists students on their road to success by providing a $5,000 college or university scholarship to further their educational opportunities. Qualifications are based on academic ability and participation in academic training programs related to the horse or horse racing industry.
