Jump Canada is pleased to announce the Canadian Show Jumping Team riders who are set to compete in the International Division at the prestigious CSIO4* Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) in Wellington, Florida from Feb. 25 to March 1.

The CSIO4* WEF is the eighth week of a 12-week series held annually in Wellington, Florida. This year’s series features riders from 33 countries competing for more than $8 million in prize money.

Week eight of WEF is set to host the CSIO4* $100,000 FEI Nations’ Cup, presented by Kingsland Equestrian, which will take place Friday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. EST under the lights in the International Arena at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC).

The four-member team who will represent Canada in the CSIO4* $100,000 FEI Nations’ Cup will be selected from the following six riders:
Ben Asselin / Calgary, Alta.
Kara Chad / Calgary, Alta.
Eric Lamaze / Schomberg, Ont.
Ian Millar / Perth, Ont.
Jonathon Millar / Perth, Ont.
Chris Sorensen / Caledon, Ont.

Leading the Canadian Show Jumping Team during the CSIO4* WEF is Equine Canada Manager of Jumping, Karen Hendry-Ouellette and chef d’équipe, Mark Laskin.

Nations’ cup classes are the only type of jumping competitions where riders compete in teams of four and face off against other countries. To determine overall team scores, the top three scores from each team are counted toward the final result of the two-round competition.
