Equine Canada is pleased to announce the jumping athletes who will compete for Canada at the CSIO 5* Rome, taking place May 26-29, 2016 in Rome, ITA.

One of Italy’s premiere equestrian events, the CSIO 5* Rome attracts some of the world’s top jumping riders for a week of top calibre international competition, highlighted by the CSIO 5* Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™ presented by Longines on May 27.

The Canadian Show Jumping Team athletes who will represent Canada in the nations’ cup will be selected from the following riders:

Rider / Hometown
Yann Candele / Caledon, ON
Kara Chad / Calgary, AB
Tiffany Foster / North Vancouver, BC
Elizabeth Gingras / Edmonton, AB
Eric Lamaze / Schomberg, ON

Providing onsite support for the team will be Equine Canada Manager of Jumping, Karen Hendry-Ouellette and Chef d’Équipe, Mark Laskin.

Nations’ cup classes represent the only type of jumping competition where riders compete as a team rather than individually. Each competing country fields a team, with the top three scores from each team counted toward the final result of the two-round competition.
