Competition is ready to begin at the 2016 Jaguar Land Rover Bromont CCI3* Three-Day Event, the Todd Sandler Challenge, taking place June 9-12 in the rolling hills of Bromont Olympic Equestrian Park in Bromont, Quebec. The Bromont Organizing Committee is proud to welcome Jaguar Land Rover back for the third year as title sponsor of the 2016 event.

Horse Inspection
On Wednesday afternoon, June 8th, horses from three divisions were trotted before a panel of veterinarians, stewards, and other FEI eventing officials to assess their readiness to compete. Quebec NZPH, the ride of April Simmonds of Uxbridge, ON, was held, but then passed on re-inspection in the CCI3* division. Try This, ridden by Kate Chadderton of Australia, was held and re-presented in the CCI2* jog, but ultimately disqualified. All CCI1* horses presented were passed.

On a cool and rainy Thursday morning, the CIC3* horses were presented; all passed and will start their dressage phase on Friday.
This year the Jaguar Land Rover Bromont CCI3* Three-Day Event – the only International Equestrian Federation-sanctioned CCI3*-level competition in Canada – has 100 horse-and-rider combinations from all over North America ready to start in the CCI1*, CCI2*, CIC3* and CCI3* divisions. Leading American competitors including Olympian Boyd Martin, past Bromont winner Buck Davidson, and Pan American Games gold medalist Lauren Kieffer, are set to square off against top Canadians including World Equestrian Games silver medalist Selena O’Hanlon and Pan Am Games medalists Jessica Phoenix, Waylon Roberts, and Colleen Loach. This represents just a sampling of the eventing talent on hand looking to secure a coveted spot on their country’s eventing squad in this last selection trial before the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, August 5-21.
