Ellen Cameron took the photo of Kye with his paintbrush at the ready. She also designed the layout of the three paintings Kye did. We’ll have this made into a banner and placed beside the “Art By Equines” banner.

This heat wave just doesn’t seem to be going away. Sunday during our Working Equitation Clinic the really smart people rode before 11:00. I snuck in a half-our session from 8:30 to 9:00. My scheduled spot was 2:00 to 3:00.

Kimberly da Silva’s been coming to Winsong Farm to give Working Equitation Clinics for about seven years. This year we had a clinic in June and this one in August. Between the two dates we had a Working Equitation area created near the lower barn. We have quite a few obstacles permanently in place, including: a bridge, a gate, the slalom, overhead bell, pen to circle around, three barrels to do a pattern around, two barrels for the long pole and spearing a ring, “L” on the ground to go through forwards and backwards, pole on the ground to go over sideways.

Kimberly wrote after the clinic, “It always amazes me how far everyone has come.”

I like having two clinics in a years. They give the riders something to focus on. In 2016 we’ll also have two clinics, one in June and the other in October.
